There is a way to free kids – and their grown-ups – from too-much-electronics to create their own joy together. Eyeball-to-eyeball, physically active play lets families and friends have fun their way, using pure imagination. It’s homegrown, down-to-earth play that provides balance in a time of extreme sophistication and stress in life. I keep changing what to call it, but “Pretend Play” describes it.
A handful of kids and their parents recently experienced the power of pretend play with me, and below you can see a few clips from that video:

Groups of creative-minded parents who want to get involved in having their kids be part of the documentary film about Pretend Play will get to see first-hand how their kids transform (at about minute 25) from self-conscious mini-teens into uninhibited, innocent, happy children! When kids and their grown-ups suddenly realize the wonder of childhood has been missing, it’s a little sad, and very beautiful, to see what happens.
Upcoming Weekend Retreats for Families to relax into eyeball-to-eyeball, soul-to-soul play together– using pure imagination– begin in 2015.
